UHS Learning Together
Family Literacy Initiative

When families learn together, possibilities grow.
UHS Learning Together is a whole-family literacy initiative designed to strengthen adult literacy, support children's educational development, and create meaningful opportunities for parents and children to learn side by side. The initial eight-week pilot is being developed for families in the New River Valley, with future expansion planned as partnerships and resources become available.
Three Parts. One Stronger Family.
Adult Education Instruction
Adults will strengthen practical reading, writing, communication, digital literacy, and everyday life skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Children's Education
Children will participate in age-appropriate literacy activities designed to build vocabulary, reading confidence, comprehension, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Parent and Child Together Time (PACT)
Parents and children will practice reading and learning strategies together through guided books, conversations, games, and hands-on family activities.
Stronger readers. Stronger families. Brighter futures.
Help Us Build UHS Learning Together
UHS Learning Together is currently being developed through community research, partnership outreach, and program planning. The House of UHS Foundation welcomes connections with literacy educators, schools, libraries, community organizations, volunteers, and family-serving agencies interested in sharing knowledge or exploring future collaboration.
