Accessibility Statement

The House of UHS Foundation believes everyone should be able to access information, resources, and opportunities with dignity and as few barriers as possible.

Effective Date: August 20, 2026

Accessibility is especially important to our mission of Unity, Healing, and Support. We are committed to improving the accessibility and usability of our website for people with disabilities, neurodivergent individuals, older adults, and others who may access information in different ways.

Our Accessibility Commitment

As our organization and website grow, we aim to make our digital content easier to understand, navigate, and use.

Our accessibility efforts may include attention to:

  • readable text and clear visual contrast
  • consistent headings and page organization
  • descriptive text for meaningful images
  • keyboard-friendly navigation where supported
  • understandable links, buttons, and form labels
  • mobile and responsive layouts
  • plain-language explanations when possible
  • reducing unnecessary barriers to finding community resources
  • providing information in different ways when reasonably possible

Accessibility is an ongoing process. We expect to continue learning, reviewing, and improving the website as UHS grows.

Ember Hope and Communication Preferences

Ember Hope, the UHS Resource Navigator, is designed to help visitors navigate information and resources in a conversational format.

Visitors may ask Ember to:

  • explain something differently
  • simplify information
  • break information into smaller steps
  • provide additional detail
  • slow the process down and focus on one topic at a time

These options are intended to make resource navigation more approachable for people with different communication and information-processing preferences.

Ember is not a replacement for professional medical, legal, mental-health, financial, or other specialized services.

Third-Party Content and Services

The UHS website may link to websites, documents, platforms, or services operated by other organizations.

While we try to connect visitors with useful resources, UHS does not control the accessibility features or practices of third-party websites and cannot guarantee their accessibility.

Need Information in Another Way?

If you have difficulty accessing information on the House of UHS website, please let us know.

When reasonably possible, we will work with you to provide the information in another accessible format or help you find another way to access what you need.

When contacting us about an accessibility barrier, it can be helpful to tell us:

  • which page or feature you were trying to use
  • what difficulty you experienced
  • what device or assistive technology you were using, if you are comfortable sharing that information
  • what alternative format or assistance might be helpful

You are not required to disclose a disability or medical condition to report an accessibility problem.

Continuous Improvement

The House of UHS Foundation is a growing organization, and our digital accessibility work will grow with us.

We welcome respectful feedback about barriers visitors encounter and will use that feedback to help guide future improvements.

Our goal is simple:

“Information about help should not become another barrier to getting help.”
